Help more people learn to swim
IATDE People CIC works with a range of partners to help increase access to swimming lessons while supporting the training of new swimming teachers. Whether you are a training provider, community organisation, business, or individual supporter, there are a number of ways to be involved in helping more people gain water confidence and learn this life-saving skill.
Approved Training Centres delivering swimming teacher qualifications can work with IATDE People CIC to support the practical teaching elements of their courses.
By partnering with the programme, training centres can:
• provide practical teaching opportunities for trainee instructors
• strengthen community engagement
• support access to swimming lessons for people who may not otherwise have the opportunity
If you are running swimming teacher training courses and would like to explore working with the programme, we would welcome a conversation.
Community organisations play an important role in helping us identify individuals and groups who may benefit from the programme.
This could include youth organisations, charities, sports clubs, or local community groups that support young people and families.
Working together helps ensure the programme reaches the people who need it most.
Local businesses and organisations can support the programme through sponsorship or partnership.
By supporting the programme, businesses help improve access to swimming lessons and water safety while contributing to their local communities.
Support may help fund:
• access to swimming lessons
• training opportunities for future swimming teachers
• essential equipment such as swimwear and goggles for participants
Partnership opportunities can be tailored depending on the level of support.
Individuals can also play an important role in helping more people access swimming lessons.
Many families face barriers to swimming that go beyond lesson costs, including the affordability of basic equipment such as swimwear and goggles.
Community support helps remove these barriers and ensures more children and young people have the opportunity to learn to swim.
Even small contributions can make a meaningful difference.
