Award in Education and Training Pre-requisites
In order to access the Tutor scheme you must hold the Award in Education and Training
qualification (or equivalent/higher—for example a PGCE or PTTLS). We know that this is something most people in leisure do not have and as such are putting on our own course on the 5th, 6th, 18th and 19th of November from 9am to 4pm via Zoom.
This course is limited to 9 candidates and we are expecting spaces to fill up fast—in fact we already have double this number on our waiting lists.
Attendance is not compulsory on all sessions, however, we know that you get the most out of this course by being in attendance. The only session which is compulsory is the session for your Micro Teach which is usually session 4.
The cost of the course is £495 per person which can be paid in instalments. Completing your AET with us means you can access the Tutor program at the discounted rate of £250 per person instead of £395! More info on the Tutor program is given on the last page of this document.
As this course is 100% remote we ask that candidates ensure they have a reasonable level of
competency using computers and ICT skills.
To access this course you must be at least 19 years of age and have a good understanding of ICT and have the ability to read and communicate clearly and accurately in written and spoken standard English (to at least a Level 2 standard).
Train the Tutor Booking
After commencement of your AET course you have 6 months to complete all required assignments (i.e. by 19th May 2023). This means work has to be submitted AND signed off by this date.
Once your assignment has been handed in and marked as complete you can book on to any of our Tutor courses for £250 instead of £395.
Cancellations, Amendments and Refunds
Due to time limits around issuing pre-course reading material we have had to amend our refunds policy:
• More than 7 weeks before course start date—100% refund minus fees for finance plans
• Between 4 and 7 weeks—up to a 50% refund minus any fees for paying by GoCardless and subject to a minimum deduction of £100 to cover the cost of already issued resources.
• Less than 4 weeks—no refund.
